Candy Colours Trend SS12

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

SS12 is all about candy colours and soft pastels! Lemon yellows, pretty pinks and cool hues of blues and mint will be filling the shops!

Already there are some gorgeous pieces that would be a great addition to your wardrobe!

Pastel colours are a brilliant way of adding colour without being too bold. Colour blocking will still be on trend but will be less vibrant and replaced with a soft palette.

Many designers demonstrated this trend on the catwalk such as Erdem, J.Crew and Louis Vuitton!

I love the soft fabrics and the tones of colours being used. Here is a selection of  a few  pieces spotted on the high street,  that will ease you into spring!

This cotton sweater from Zara £19.99 is a perfect piece. This is such a versitile top and can be worn with jeans and skirts a great item to mix and match with your existing wardrobe.

Next this pretty pink peplum dress from Moschino £240, this dress is stunning and fitted at the waist, while  accentuating curves. A gorgeous dress for spring and also good for any occasions over summer. This dress can be worn in many ways and can be teamed with heels, flats and wedges! Overall a brilliant investment item!

For a hint of pastel colours this blouse from Topshop £18.00, is a easy way to have a hint of colour and be stylish at the same time. This blouse is so effortless and can also be dressed up with a skirt or worn casually with a pair of jeans, this is great for the weekends, for a relaxed casual look!

Stylish Knitwear

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

A good few pieces of knitwear is the perfect addition to your wardrobe this season. Jumpers and cardigans that are good quality will look stylish and be wearable for a long time.

Here is a selection of some classic designs that will look chic this season!

This is a classic roll neck from DVF £180, works with so many outfits, looks great thrown together with jeans or looks chic and stylish for work tucked into a pencil skirt and add a skinny belt to make an outfit.

A lovely warm colour for winter and flattering on the shoulders!

This chunky cream sweater from Reiss £140, originally reduced from £175. A classic cable knit sweater. The length is nice and long.

Perfectly cosy for winter days, and looks on trend at the same time.

For something slightly smarter this fine knit from Mango £27.92 is gorgeous. I love the sheer sleeves that make this an interesting piece.

Great if you want to cover up your arms in the evenings.

Stunning day to night piece. Simply team with pencil skirts, trousers or jeans for a smart casual look! Love the polka dot detailing and the bow neckline!

Last I had to include sequins my latest obsession! This cardigan from Topshop £48 is one of my favourite pieces.

Looks great just with a t-shirt and jeans or alternatively on a night out over a black dress!

The half sleeve is very flattering and the sequins are not to over the top! Also I have to say the price point is also good considering the gorgeous detail! A must have bit of sparkle for the Christmas period.

Brand of the Month: Whistles

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Our brand of the month for July is the fab Whistles. We just can’t get enough of their pretty dresses and chic jumpsuits for a dose of grown up style.

When people think lace they tend to think creams, whites, maybe some black and a bit of red (thanks to Erdem). We love Whistles’ Siri Lace Dress, £275, for refusing to conform to the usual colour palette of choice for lace by surprising us with a lovely shade of light turquoise. It feels much fresher than the types of lace we’ve come to know and it’s perfect for working the colour blocking trend as well.

We’re envisioning wearing this jumpsuit on holiday somewhere far away complete with perfectly tanned skin and gold accessories. Perfect for a bit of understated glamour, this is certain to get heads a-turnin’. Juliana jumpsuit, £195.

Coming up later on this month: coloured jeans. We just love this trend and will be bringing you our favourite picks soon. In the meantime we are coveting these Liza Cotton Wrap Trousers, £65 (they also come in a daring shade of red) worn just as the model is for a relaxed, chic look this summer.

Our final pick from Whistles is this Lotus crochet top, £110 – a perfect cover up for the end of summer when the nights start to get a bit chillier or for those typically British rainy summer days. We think it’s a great addition for your transitional wardrobe.
