Three necklaces to charm the socks off of you!

Finally, another handmade wonder from Dogeared, this time the World Charm necklace, £49 – delicate and beautiful, just as the world should be.

A while ago before our mammoth break we featured some great charm necklaces, ending with a promise to bring you part two soon. Well it may not be as soon as anyone would’ve hoped for but better late than never, right?

This Charming Girl is a fab little site you might have heard of as their work has been featured countless times recently. It’s a great place to pick up a piece that is a bit more unique than your average high street shop and cheaper too – check out this shell necklace for example, a total bargain at £11. We love how it opens up to reveal a teeny tiny pearl inside!

Maria Allen has lots of gorgeous, dainty jewellery which is also a lot cheaper than what you might expect. We love her initial necklaces in particular (a snip at just £12), but be sure to also take a look at her Little Acorn necklace (perfect for autumn) and Cameo ring (great for this season).

Fancy yourself a bit of a femme fatale? Wear it on your neck with these vintage-look necklaces from Rock ‘n Rose at £18. Choose from “femme fatale,” the cheeky “la petite mort,” the sweet “mon petite cherie” or make a statement with “c’est l’amour”.

Okay, I think I might have a bit of an charm necklace addiction… I thought that statement were my favourite kind of necklace (as evidenced by this post), but whilst researching charm necklaces to feature for this blog post, I realised that I actually know a few places to go to get some cute necklaces that not many people will have. Unfortunately I already edited all the images I needed for this blog post so I’m going to split all the must-have charm necklaces into two posts instead. In part one I’m going to talk about necklaces from the high street or well-known jewellery designers, and in part two I’ll talk about all the best places to get unique necklaces at pocket money prices. Here is part one…

This Pearl Friendship Knot necklace is by Anna Vogel, £250 (left), has been made from a Victoria brooch. Her collection (available from Liberty) features vintage charms that she has collected over the years, so you can rest assured that you will be hard pressed to find someone else with the same necklace as you! We just love the sweet little enamel flowers with pearl centers. If you’re generous, this would make a great present for a friend (think of it as a grown-up version of those “Best Friends” necklaces you had as a child) or for yourself if you’re after a fantastic unique piece.

For a cheaper option, how about this Cath Kidston Good Luck charm necklace, £38 (right)? The queen of vintage prints has brought this “love, luck and wisdom” necklace out for the superstitious (myself included!). Pick this one up to keep bad luck at bay from ASOS.

I am a total fangirl for Alex Monroe jewellery. In my eyes he can do no wrong, and this Aubergine necklace, £135 is fun, sweet and completely different to most charms out there. Okay, so you might not be on the look-out for an aubergine charm necklace, but I swear, once you see this necklace in person you will fall head over heels for its charm. I first saw this necklace around this time last year when I was working in the fashion department of Cosmopolitan (check out the link to see the full-page spread they did of his necklaces) and was just a squealing mess over how small and delicate the charm is. There are only a handful of designers who do “charm” as well as Alex does so if you’ve never been a fan of aubergines, be sure to check out the rest of his collection as there’s sure to be something to suit everyone’s tastes.

Laura Lees is another jewellery designer I first came into contact with whilst at Cosmo, and she is part of the handful that does “charm” like no one else! I absolutely adore this initial charm necklace (I collect them almost obsessively) as it is the definition of charm – small, sweet and classic. Prices start at £85 for a sterling silver version, peaking at £185 for a 9ct white gold version. There is nothing else I could possibly say to sell this necklace to you – it speaks volumes all by itself!
